How to draw manga eyes
In this thread I will post step by step tutorials on how to draw manga eyes.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 1
Anatomy.
Eye consists of three parts - the white of the eye, the iris and the pupil.
The Iris is the colored part of the eye. The Pupil is the "black" part of the eye -it's not really black, it's the hole through which light enters inside.
As you probably know, the pupil varies in size depending on the light: when there is much light,
the pupil narrows to block the excess of the light and opens up a large portion of the iris. And vice versa.

How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 2
The eye appears to be a sphere, though in fact it has the shape of ellipses because of its natural lens.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 3:
Eyelid determines the shape of the eye and acts as a shield.
It's a common mistake for beginners to draw the eyelid with a thin and flat.
In fact, the eyelid fat is enough: you can see its thickness if we remove lashes.
And the shadow of eyelid usually falls on the. In the inner corner of the eye you can see a small patch of pink skin.

How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 4:
Lower eyelid, as well as the top has a thickness. The big difference is only that it is not so pronounced.
Review your eye in the mirror and you will see that the pupil is not exactly in the center of the eye, it's slightly "above".
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 5:
Well, now let's talk about the less technical (and more pleasant) things in drawing eyes!
Eyes in toons and comics are based on "real" eyes.
However, eyes in the comics are based on geometric forms - regardless of the style in which you want to paint, you can always break the form of the eye
(and anatomy) to simple geometric shapes.
Therefore, it is very important to practice the fundamentals - once you learn how to draw basic shapes, you can also draw the structure of the eye.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 6:
Eyes in the manga and comics styles differ a lot: some are very simple, as the left eye, some performed very dramatic, like an eye in the middle.
Some eyes are somewhere between the first and second (right eye)

|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 7:
. Flare is very important because it makes eyes look alive.
The real eyes, as you know, are wet and have a flare, so a drawn eye without a flare will appear to be dead.
It's not necessarily to draw a very dramatic flare, it can be softer.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 8:
It is very important in our work to determine the proper orientation of an eye and ages, as well as to determine if the eyes should be open or closed.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 9:
When we speak about the eye, there is one more thing which can not be underestimated - it's eyebrows.
Eye brow intensifies emotions! You can create a more dramatic expression drawing the eyebrow.
|
|
How to draw Manga Eyes - Step 10:
Now let's try to draw the eye step by step. Start with a general outline of the eye shapes.
Add the iris and the pupil. Do not forget about the source of light - from where the light falls on your hero!
Now would it be good to think about the eyelid. Darken the pupil and begin to form the upper and lower parts of the eye.
Do not detail the eye as long as you have not created the expression.
